Een kandidaat voor het Ryla Programma

vrijdag 22 januari 2016

Hierbij hoe zij zichzelf voorstelt:

"As a current Master student Strategical Communication at the University of Antwerp I’m always looking for ways to improve my leadership skills. A leadership development program such as RYLA will allow me to do just that.

I’m an entrepreneurial, dynamical and social student who doesn’t shy away from responsibility. I recently came back from a study exchange to Québec. While in Canada, I met two other young high potentials who formed a start-up by the name of “Studetree”. Studetree is an innovative online application that allows students to resell their used textbooks in the most efficient and user-friendly way possible. This project spoke to me, since this would benefit not only a large number of students, but will also reduce the amount of paper waste produced by universities each year. Personally, I’m very motivated to build a similar start-up right here in Belgium. I believe there is a huge market for an application like Studetree in Belgium.

As a student, I have experienced firsthand how unorganised and inefficient people resell their used textbooks. This opportunity fuels my dream of my very own start-up with the potential to grow and be connected with Studetree overseas.

Aside from my interest in leadership by example through a start-up like Studetree, I’m also very passionate about serving my community. I’m a firm believer of equality and teaching young men and women what equality is about. Since there isn’t a collective of young people discussing the equality problems we face as a society here in Antwerp, I intend to create one myself.

The RYLA project would provide me with important insights that will ensure the success of this project. In short, I would love to participate in the RYLA project to gain more knowledge on how to implement and develop an innovative idea.  To be able to do this surrounded by equally driven and passionate young high potentials, all while being coached by successful entrepreneurs would be absolutely wonderful."
